Interstate Commerce means trade, traffic, and transportation between two States or between State and another country. It also includes movements within a State that originate in, terminate in, or through another State or country. Determination of whether a driver/vehicle is engaged in interstate transportation is made through examination of shipping documents, labels on freight, the driver's record of duty status (logbook), and responses to the appropriate inquiries. A third-party-logistics provider exists to facilitate this trade, traffic, and transportation by reconciling a cargo, which is required to be delivered to its destination, with an appropriate transporter, known as motor carrier, to have this cargo delivered. Here are some examples of interstate commerce.
